- You can have your quilt machine quilted on a professional quilting machine by an experienced quilter.

Batting
You can supply your own batting or purchase it from Cotton-By-Post or North End Sewing Centre. Either way, make sure the batting is at least 6” wider and 6” longer than the dimensions of your quilt top
Thread
You can supply your own thread, purchase it from Cotton-By-Post or North End Sewing Centre when you drop off your quilt top, or I have a limited selection of basic colours. I recommend Superior’s Bottom Line as a bobbin thread, which is available at these shops.
Quilt Preparation
You have put a lot of work into creating your quilt top. Now take a few steps to ensure that the final product lives up to your expectations.
The Top
- Press your quilt top thoroughly so the seams are laying flat.
- Remove loose threads from front and back of top.
- Check for holes or open seams.
- Extremely wavy borders do not mount or quilt properly. Check for waves by laying quilt top flat and smoothing it out.
The Backing and Batting
- Removing selvages before you piece your backing helps to prevent puckering of your backing during the quilting process.
- Iron the backing seam open.
- Backing and batting must be at least 6” wider and longer than quilt top.
- Square off backing and batting.
- Please do not pin or baste your layers together. The individual layers are mounted seperately on the machine.
Binding
- Be sure to bring sufficient fabric for binding if you want your quilt bound.

Quilting Options
$0.02 per square inchEdge to Edge
A freeform meandering design over the entire quilt surface, including borders. You can have leaves, hearts, flowers, spirals, stippling or choose from a large selection of other designs. Designs can be scaled in size to suit your quilt.
$0.03 per square inchLevel 1 Custom Quilting
Choose a basic edge to edge pattern for the interior of your quilt with a separate border treatment.
$0.04 per square inchLevel 2 Custom Quilting
Artistic patterns customized to suit the individual blocks, sashing and borders of your quilt. Some stitch-in-the-ditch work.
$0.05 per square inchLevel 3 Custom Quilting
This includes more intricate and elaborate patterns, denser stitching, stitch-in-the-ditch and outlining of applique.
Other Services
$0.08/$0.25 per linear inchBinding
I can either prepare and machine attach your binding to the front of your quilt making it ready for you to hand finish, or I can do that for you too!
$10.00Piecing Backing or Batting
Sometimes you need to sew together pieces of batting or backing in order to accommodate the size of your quilt top. I can do that for you.
