Embellished Working Women Wall Quilt with Bev Rebelo from Zimbabwe

This beautiful wall quilt  will be close to completion in the one day class.  Bev will teach her appliqué and embellishing techniques as well as the history of the women and of the embellishments used.  The kit includes African fabric and all the embellishments which are from Africa plus all the fabrics including backing and batting for only  $39.95 + taxes = $45.15

Requirements that you need to bring:

  • Pins
  • Scissors – paper and fabric
  • Needles suitable for appliqué
  • Sewing and appliqué thread
  • Tube turner or knitting needle or chop stick (actually I use blunt scissors)
  • Pen/pencil for marking light and dark fabric
  • Sheet of plastic template
  • Pen/pencil to mark plastic template
  • ¼ inch bias bar
  • Standard sewing supplies i.e. scissors, etc

This is a two day class will teach you some of Dena's new and exciting techniques.  When she leaves Ailsa Craig she will be travelling to Houston to teach this class there.  Each quilt will be unique!  The kits will come in a variety of different colourways so that each student can choose their favourite colour combination.

The kit will include stabilizer and all the fabrics for the quilt including the backing and batting for $59.95 + taxes = $67.75.

  • Pins for securing quilt layers for quilting
  • Sewing and decorative threads
  •  Pencil, chalk, wax, disappearing ink pen, washable ink pen or other non-permanent marker

  • - Rotary cutter, new blade, mat, ruler
